I have a problem regarding to Find longest string in column

I have a Google Sheet with about 38 tabs. Each tab has a column with cells that have a validation range to another sheet. My problem is that the range has grown and I don't know how to do a quick find and replace on the validation ranges. Instead of the validation range being A:A1000, it now needs to be A:A, and I don't know how to fix that without having to copy an paste each cell. Any suggestions?

Hi, I am trying to generate dynamic lists based of different length. For example, in column B I have a country name. In column C I have an industry (e.g. automotive, pharmaceuticals etc.) and in column D I have company names. So my goal now is to generate a list of all automotive companies for various countries. I hope to find a solution, where I simply select country and industry (maybe in a drop-down) and then get the corresponding list of company names. So it is not a one-to-one match as I would get with a vlookup, but a one-to-many match (with the number of results also varying...)
