I'm trying to Countif certain characters in a string - e.g: "Trump" in a range of 100 headlines... but rather than state the string, I want to match it to a criteria in a cell... What I have at the moment: =COUNTIF(Table1[Linked Headline],"*Trump*") What I want: =COUNTIF(Table1[Linked Headline],"*B2*") But the second returns nothing, even though B2 contains 'Trump'

I have used a countif formula =COUNTIFS('2017 Inspections'!M4:M486,"22/01/2018",'2017 Inspections'!N4:N486,"=Lynda Hall",'2017 Inspections'!O4:O486,"Confirmed") to create a tally of inspections on a certain date, by a certain inspector and of a certain status. I now need to create a job listr of what properties the inspector will visit on these days. To do this I need to search for the same result as the countif but return the address, postcode and owner name which are in the first 3 columns of each row.
