I'm trying to use conditional formatting in excel based on another cells to color code cells that are greater or lesser. However there is text in the cells and the conditional formatting isn't correctly color coding values that are higher or lower.

Hello, I have a spread sheet with 5 market mix categories; with conditional formatting to change the colour based on wording in column C. I would now like to set a formula for Cell C43 = the Sum of all cells in column W that are orange in column C.

I have a table of data showing how much each individual produced every day of the year. I then summed the total for each individual for the entire year. I would like to narrow down which individuals had a total below average, shown on a different table. I am only able to countif individuals were below average, but I want to show specifically which ones were below average, instead of going manually and picking which ones were below and which ones weren't (it is a lot of data). I have already used conditional formatting to help me visualize which ones were above average (shown in green cells) and which ones were below average (red), but I would still have to pick them individually if I were to represent in a new table specifically which ones were below average. Any help on which equation can perform this action? It would be something like show which individuals were below average, and the result would be about 50 data points in 50 different cells.

Hi! I want to code my excel so that it will copy the data from multiple cells to another location using conditional formatting. For example, if the word in cell D4 is not equal to the word in cell E4, I want it to copy cells B4, C4, D4, and E4 to another location on the document. Furthermore, I would like to have this run through multiple rows without leaving spaces in the "copied" area. I could code it as an if statement (which would take forever because i have a lot of data) but I don't think it would allow me to have as many in-bedded if statements as I need. Thank you for your help!

hello! I've searched Google for an answer but I don't think I am posing the question correctly. I have a simple excel spreadsheet (Excel 2013) that contains guest information. When the guest has left, we grey out the whole row, not just the columns that have information. The problem is when I sort the information. Currently we only have information in columns a-q, however, need the ability to use more columns as needed. When I highlight the whole spreadsheet or just certain rows and sort, usually just by agent (column b), the spreadsheet sorts correctly however with the rows that are shaded, only the columns a-q stay shaded and with any other column past q, the shading stays with the row number and not with the original content. I've looked into conditional formatting but that's formula driven which doesn't work in our case.

I'm looking for a formula that I can set up for conditional formatting to highlight an entire row of cells based on the condition of two specific values. I need this rule to have 8 variant outcomes as well, differentiated by color.

I want to apply conditional formatting to column E in the "MASTER" sheet. This will be with values of Hi, Medium, Low or Standing Item. If "Hi" is written the cell will glow red, if "medium" is typed into a cell in that column E the cell will glow orange and if a value of"low" is written the cell will glow green and if a value of "Standing Item" is written the cell will glow blue... but right now when I try to do this and then hit the "Update" button to have the macro run... all of the conditional formatting works on the main "MASTER" sheet but none of the conditional formatting works on the other sheets even though all of the actual data(words) are transferring to each sheet from the "MASTER" sheet the right way.

I have a problem utilising conditional formatting as below. I am wanting the balance point of a beam 100 inches long, one end "A" has a weight of 250 Lbs and the other "B" has a weight of 25 Lbs. Logic suggests the balance point is close to "A". The balance point can be worked out by progressive calculations but can Excel formula give me a quicker way to achieve the results?
