How’s it going? Here I have a table (let’s call it Table 1) that would ordinarily be populated, but I cannot share the values unfortunately. To the far right you can see another little table I used to find the average values for each category and year using AVERAGEIF and also basic formulas for year on year changes (let’s call it Table 2). On Sheet2 is the transposed version of that table (Table 3), which is the one I want to populate using a formula linking it to Table 1 (eliminating the need for Table 2). I think the formula to use might be HLOOKUP, but I could be wrong… maybe HLOOKUP and AVERAGEIF. I would really appreciate your help on this. Thanks!

Hello, it is difficult to explain my problem without showing you a screenshot, but I am trying to calculate in my "I" column the average social media engagement of various publications appearing in my "F" column. I've created an AVERAGEIF formula (in French however, because my program is in French) based on the Microsoft tutorial on the subject, yet I still get an error message. I can't figure out what is wrong with my forumla. Help! Thank you.

9. Switch to the Employee Summary worksheet and calculate the totals in the table using the appropriate functions. HINT: Remember that sumif multiple criteria adds or totals cells only if they meet the specified criteria, and AVERAGEIF and COUNTIF perform their computations only when the data meets multiple criteria.

Hi, I have a list of numbers in one column and an condition (0/1) in another column I want to check the standard deviation only if the condition is 1 I'm using excel 2016 and I did not find an stdevif function similar to averageif but could anyone recommend a clever way in solving my problem? I've googled and lots of answers are using the CSE equation {=STDEV(IF(B2:B100="Y",A2:A100))} I did enter the equation using ctrl+shift+enter but what I got is an error: #DIV/0! ...Also, what should I do if I want to compute the SD under more than one columns of conditions (in my file, condition 1 & condition2)? Thanks.

I do not understand this AverageIF ref. Use the AVERAGEIF function to complete the "Average Hours/Job" column in table 4. Reference the appropriate field in table 1 as your range and the "Difficulty" rating in table 4 as your criteria.

1. Complete the summary information using formulas, and format as shown in Figure 2 below. You must use conditional aggregate functions (COUNTIF, AVERAGEIF, SUMIF) as appropriate in this table. Note: Do not average a set of averages – this produces rounding errors. Use the original data table for overall average.
