I'm not even sure if the Solver is what I need, but I'm trying to optimize a list with the highest value return dictated by a user-data inputted number for reference. For instance, I have the following fields: Weapon, Off Hand, Head, Neck, Shoulders, Chest, Back, Wrists, Hands, Waist, Legs, Feet, Ring1, Ring2, Trinket1, and Trinket2. Each of these categories have sub-items under each. Some of these items have a value that is called "Hit%" which is generally delineated by a 0, 1, or a 2. And overall each item has a grand total stat which can range from 0 to 160. So, if I input that I need 16 Hit% it would then go through all of the sub-items and pick the absolute highest grand value for each to comprise a list that fills each of those categories up to 16 hit. If I change it to 3, it'd then compensate, etc. I can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this.

I am trying to do a SUMIF calculation and when I hit insert function and then chose SUMIF it brings up 3 things: range, criteria and sum_range. I can properly select the data I want in there (ex: E2:E6) but I want to make it and absolute cell reference and I am using a mac so I highlight it and click command t but a "ding" noise pops up and it doesn't allow me to change it. I am not sure why. I am following along with an excel module program and the instructor does it frequently and it works every time for him. I have attached a file, and the first sheet is empty and the second sheet has the formula I am supposed to put in.
